QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Question: OK, where exactly will these CDs be distributed?
Answer: The CDs are distributed world-wide.
We mail to Radio Stations, Magazines, Record Companies, Film & T.V Production Companies, plus the participating Bands & Artists. We also give the CDs away at music related events. About half of the contacts we mail to are located in the USA, and the other half are located mostly in Canada, Europe, and Australia.

In addition, each contact that we mail the CD to has either contacted us asking for music, or we have asked for permission to send new music to them. We will not send your music to anyone who does not want to receive our compilation CDs. You can be confident that your music will get heard! To see examples visit www.examples.indie360.com

Question: How Much Does This Cost?
Answer: First you must register to reserve your guaranteed space ($20). This fee goes towards your cost to participate in the project, and and is not some made up fee. This fee also let's us know that you are serious and committed to be part of our next project. You will then have 30 days to send your final payment ($129 participation fee
). We also offer some additional services like deluxe mastering, and our complete list of contacts on sticker labels (optional).

Question: I still don't get it, explain this to me again?
Answer: Indie 360 is a Co-Op CD project by an independent record company called 3000 Records. We help independent Bands & Artists get exposure by including 1 song on a "Co-Op CD" (like a compilation or soundtrack). The CDs are distributed free to people in the Music Industry, and the general public. The music on the compilation CD is available not only on CD, but also through Digital Download Cards, and Digital Distribution. Being on our Co-Op CD allows you to get your music heard by 1000's of listeners, including people who can make a difference in your music career.

Question: How can you allow Bands and Artists to sign up for this without hearing the music first?
Answer: We get this question a-lot and DO enjoy listening to plenty of great music.. BUT in the last 10 years we have found that the Musicians who choose to participate are usually excellent. Our job is NOT to listen to CDs all day and decide who should and who should not sign up. Instead, we make sure that we do OUR job which is to promote great music and get the exposure you deserve. Some Musicians have expressed that they are "too good" to be on part of our Co-Op CD project.. This is not a project for egomaniacs or music snobs! This project is for realistic, dedicated, and talented Musicians with quality music that is "radio-friendly". If you have no idea if your music is quality material and "radio friendly" then this project is most likely not for you at this time. This does not necessarily exclude people who record with a "four track". Even the Beatles were recorded on a four track.

Question: Do I need to send my song before I can register and reserve a spot?
Answer: No. Almost everyone who registers is accepted however, you will get a refund if we choose not to promote your music. We find that those who choose to participate are serious and enthusiastic Bands & Artists. Most are very talented, some just plain gifted. We reserve the right to refuse any music we do not find appropriate for this service. If your music is quality material, and "radio-friendly" then this service is definitely for you.

Question: Wait just a minute. Is this some kind of scam?
Answer: Sounds like a good idea, and a good deal too? That's because it is. We could charge a-lot more, but this is not simply about making money. We are interested in helping people get deserved exposure, networking with others in the music business, and having a little fun while running a cool music promotion service. Keep in mind this is by Musicians for Musicians. We are totally legit, honest, and hard working people. See the complete list of Bands and Artists we've worked with since 1996 at www.3000records.com

Question: What about Copyrights?
Answer: Participants will keep all rights to their own music. Our Terms of Agreement are non-exclusive. In our opinion, that's is the best kind of agreement out there!!! Though recommended, it is not a requirement to Copyright your music to participate in this Co-Op CD project.

Question: What if spaces become full, or not enough Bands & Artists register by the deadline?
Answer: These CDs are organized by volume number (Radio Now! Vol. 1,2,3,4..etc). If spaces on a Co-Op CD become full, the Band or Artist will get an immediate space reserved on the next CD (the next volume number). If not enough Bands & Artists register, there will be a deadline extension to allow more Bands & Artists to sign up..

NOTE: We have room for about 40 Bands & Artists per project. We organize about 2 music promotion projects per year. Once you register, your space on the next promotional project will be immediately reserved And guaranteed.

Question: How long will I have to wait before my music is sent to the radio DJs and Music Industry contacts?
Answer: Each promotional campaign depends on how many participants we get, and how quickly they send in their music and final payment. To make things run effectively, this takes time and patience from everyone involved. The projects can take about 4 months of organization plus time for mastering, CD duplication, and shipping! We work hard to ensure things go as smoothly and quickly as possible. You are always welcome to check in with us, and ask how things are coming along.

Question: How much time do I get on the CD?
Answer: Songs must be 4 minutes and 20 seconds or less. Due to limited space, there will be a minimal cost for songs that go over the time allowed.

Question: Who else is going to be on the CD, and what are the music styles?
Answer: Most music styles are accepted. You will find a variety of different types of music on our Co-Op CDs. Don't worry, since we include a Band / Artist Description Sheet for the radio DJs and Music Industry contacts they know exactly what to expect when they listen to the CD. This gives everyone a fair chance at getting their song noticed.

Question: Which song may I use for this Co-Op CD project?
Answer: It is up to each participating Band & Artist which song they would like to include.
You should use the song that best represents your music. Consider using a song that you would use on a "single".

Question: If I register to reserve my space, how should I label my CD that I send to you guys?
Answer:
Include your Band / Artist name on the CD or CD-R and the title of the song you would like included on the Co-Op CD. Simple as that.. Don't forget to write neat.

Question: Can I send my song over as an MP3 file?
Answer:
Yes, we would prefer if you send your song as an MP3. Once you complete your participation payment, you will have the opportunity to upload your song.

Question: Can my song have swearing in it?
Answer: Yes, as long as the swearing is "bleeped" out or edited. DJs will not play your song if your song has audible swearing. If you cannot fix this, use a different song.

Question: What does the Registration Fee, and Participation fee cover?
Answer: We have many expenses in funding this project, and even the little things really add up fast. Expenses are kept very low so there are no unnecessary charges to you. The list of expenses is as follows...

*Top quality CD manufacturing *Type-set /Graphic layout *CD mastering (engineer + studio-time) *CD sleeves *Printing Digital Download Cards *Shipping materials (boxes, bubble wrap envelopes, tape, printing labels, etc..) *Shipping (US & International) *Our PO Box rental *Office supplies (computer, phone, etc…) *Web site development *Web hosting *Email hosting *Auto-responder subscription *Our toll free number *Long distance phone bill (US & International) *Advertising budget (magazine ads, internet ads, flyers, etc…) *Gas money *AND of course our small but hard working staff working on the organization, distribution of the CDs and other promotional materials *Plus other misc. expenses

The cost to mail your song to 175 radio DJs and other Music Industry contacts (world-wide), plus the cost of 1000 CDs + duplication, and delivery of the CDs to music retail stores and music events for promotion, etc.. far out weighs the cost to sign up for our service! This is not even mentioning the TONS of work you would have to do to effectively promote yourself in this way! Save your valuable time, energy, and hard earned money when you join Indie 360.
